Norma L. (Conkle) Lewis Dalton, age 75, of Newark, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio) following a short battle with small cell lung cancer.
Norma was born July 17, 1944 in Etna, Ohio to the late Luther and Louella Ann (Mason) “Peggy” Conkle.
Norma had worked at Clark’s Dining Room in Jacksontown, Ohio. For over twenty years she helped make the best pies and meals for the customers, who were like family. She was also long-time member and bartender of the Newark Moose Lodge #499, Chapter 964.
You always knew where you stood with Norma, she would tell you exactly the way it was. Norma was a private, simple and straight forward woman, who was always there to help others.
She is survived by her daughter, Holly Jean Klee of Wedgefield, South Carolina; a stepson, Dan (Inger Mitchell) Prouty of Heath; a brother, Ray E. “Whitey” (Charlotte) Conkle of Reynoldsburg; a sister, Betty M. (Chester) Chapman of Amanda; numerous grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her life partner, Homer L. Prouty (2019); a son, Terry Allen Lewis of Grove City; a sister, Dorothy Ellison of Thornville; and a brother, Kenneth Roy “Dick” Conkle of Etna.
Per Norma’s request there will be no services.

The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
Norma was the most kindest and sweetest woman you could ever known.She has always had a special place in my heart and has been like a mother to me. Definitely was a blessing in my life.Never will forget her. Definitely one of a kind.
