William H. “Bill” Jaynes, Jr., age 95, of Heath, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at his residence with his caring family at his side.
Bill was born June 8, 1924 in Newark, Ohio to the late Ola (Flowers) and William H. Jaynes, Sr.
He was the owner and operator of “Bill’s Automotive Service” in the Newark area since 1954. He proudly represented his country by serving in the United States Army during WWII, where he was a member of the 692nd Tank Destroyer Unit. Bill was set in his ways, had a heart of gold, and always treated everyone fairly.
Over the years, he built several custom hot rods, including his favorite rod, a 1940 Cadillac. Bill also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, especially cheering on his favorite driver, Bill Elliott.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy R. (Reid) Jaynes; two sons, William H. Jaynes III and Tim A. (Jackie) Jaynes; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother; and a sister.
No calling hours or services will be observed.
