She passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born July 10, 1940 in Beloit, Kansas to the late Mathias and Mary (Haneberg) Stover.
Kay was an avid reader and devoted John Wayne fan watching many of his movies. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Kay has been described as having a wonderful sense of humor and being a little bit ornery. She also liked to square dance and was very passionate about her support for the military. Kay loved deeply those she met. In her eyes, family was everything and it didn't matter if it was blood or not. She loved everyone with her entire heart.
Kay was an active parishioner of St. Leonard Catholic Church in Heath. In her spare time, she helped with the concession stand at numerous Lakewood High School soccer games.
She is survived by two sons, Andrew G. (Kecha) Brodsky and Matthew L. “Matt” Brodsky; a daughter, Marla L. (James) Troll; three sisters, Mary Todd-Coloney, Patricia (Jerry) Kluss and Jeanne (Peter) Youngers; eleven grandchildren, Karl, Chelsea, Brian, Joshua, Donald, Kaleb, Makenzie, Nicolas, Ariel, Jacob and Morgan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald G. Brodsky (2004); and a brother, Francis Stover.
Family and friends may call at The Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 1249 Hebron Road, Heath, on Sunday, May 19 from 1-4 p.m. A vigil service will be held at 4 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made in Katherine’s name to The American Heart Association, The American Lung Association, Wounded Warriors or to USA Patriots.

She will be dearly missed. She always made us feel so special. Feels like another piece of my heart is missing now. Love you Kay Brodsky!!!
I will always remember her for her sense of humor, her "four legged chicken" casserole, and her love of hummingbirds. Mom LOVED to watch them, and must have had a dozen shirts with them on them. You will be missed.
Kay will be greatly missed. She was a special friend, we worked many years at OSU Family Medicine till she retired. We had a lot of fun working together. My prayers goes out to the family. God Bless
Kay was such an amazing person! She helped at Hebron Elementary book fairs for years, even when her grandchildren had moved on. I will miss her so much! It's going to be so hard at book fair time this fall without her kindness and humor! ??❤️??
