Patty Sue Walters, age 74, of Newark passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Licking Memorial Hospital.
She was born August 19, 1944 in Nelsonville, Ohio to the late Clarence and Nellie (Smart) Mourne.
Patty loved to travel with her husband and family to exciting places like the Black Hills of North Dakota, a once in a lifetime vacation to Hawaii and Florida. While on vacation she loved to explore and often shopped for various souvenir dishes. Patty also enjoyed reading gossip magazines and newspapers like The National Enquirer as well as posting and sharing on her Facebook page.
Sunday dinners were a big part of her life with her family and she enjoyed crocheting as a hobby.
Patty’s love for others was greatly expressed by her care and thought for people. One of her most lasting expressions of love was her donation of her eyes to The Eye Bank Association of America.
She loved others, her children and husband deeply and will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Philip Ford Walters, whom she married on April 6, 1984; two sons, James (Chris Merriman) Kazee of Buckeye Lake and Adam (Tiffany) Walters of Powell; four daughters, Lora (Scott) Cook of Washington Courthouse, Mary Kazee of Washington Courthouse, Alyssa (Tylor) Roark of Washington Courthouse, Melanie Holley of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and thirteen grandchildren; Beth (Steve) Blake, Katy (Dean) Cole, Emily Kazee, Christopher Clouse, Nicholas Clouse, Mitchell (Krystal) Holley, Olivia Holley, Grant Holley, Claire Holley, Ethan Walters, Keilah Walters, Ella Walters and Logan Walters; and eight great-grandchildren; Brayden, Makenna, Ryder, Dez, Tempie, Ava, Carson, and Addy; a brother-in-law, Eugene (Roslyn) Dew of Sarasota, Florida; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Thomas) Clawson of Pickerington; and nieces and nephews.
