She married her husband of 67 years, Kenneth, on November 21, 1943. Mrs. McMillen was a homemaker and had worked as a cashier and bookkeeper at Airesman Electric.

An active member of Second Baptist Church of Newark, Mrs. McMillen had been a Sunday School teacher there for over 50 years. She was also a member of Licking Chapter #551 Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. McMillen was an avid reader, even listening to books on tape from the public library system once she lost her sight. She also enjoyed stamp collecting and crocheting.

She is survived by four children, Andrew R. (Kathy) McMillen of Granville, Judy Louise Schumaker of Newark, Nancy Eileen Plush of Pataskala and Phyllis Anne (Kevin) Martin of Mount Vernon; nine grandchildren, David Schumaker, Tamara D. (Dan) Lilly, Jonathan (Noelle) Plush, Timothy A. (Tara) McMillen, Kristina (Lee) Hannigan, George Schumaker, Tyler I. (Angie) McMillen, Margaret A. Martin and Kenneth E. Martin; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Eva Mae Thompson of Heath; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Howard McMillen, on October 21, 2011; and by infant twin sons, James and John; and a brother, Harold.

A special thank you to the nurses at Arlington Care Center Station 2 and to Therapy for their excellent care.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 2, at the funeral home, 1249 Hebron Road, Heath, where Licking Chapter #551 Order of the Eastern Star will have a service at 5:45 p.m.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember your mother from Second Baptist Church many years ago. She was a wonderful person. My grandmother was Harriet Worstell. My prayers are with you and your family as no words can express the feelings you are having. May God keep His arms around you and comfort you always.
