A funeral service for Darrell E. Wright, age 81, of Heath, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.
Darrell passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). He was born September 27, 1930 in Fredonia, Ohio to the late Swazy and Beatrice (Wright) Wright.
Darrell was a member of 1st Christian Union Church in Newark. He drove semi truck for Commercial Motor Freight and Lucus Supply and retired after nearly 47 years of service. Darrell was also an avid bowler and enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly (Joseph) Orduna of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Shirley Sue Wilson of Newark; two half-brothers, Wayne E. (Judy) Wright of Newark and David L. (Patricia) Wright of Clearwater, FL; three half-sisters, Donna Jean (Clyde) Boring of Newark; Beverly May (Jeff) Zartman and Linda Kay (Bruce) Varner all of Heath; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Arlene (Robert) Stewart; two brothers, Gene Glenard Wright and Denzil Wright; and a half-brother, Allen E. Wright.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 16, at the funeral home, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark.
