To the family of Dave:
I am sorry for your loss. Being a classmate we got to know each other since we were at the "end of the alphabet"; however we shared a desk in Bookkeeping class and I was always amazed at his intelligence and the ease with which he could capture the class. He had a sense of humor that was "quick." I am glad I got to speak with him at our reunion. Take Care. April

To the Zimmerman Family,

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Dave was a grade & high school classmate of mine. He was a kind and gentle person. My best memories of Dave were in our math classes. He had one of the best wits ever and always added humor to our days together! I am sorry for your loss. Rest in Peace Dave.

We are shocked and sorry to learn of David's passing. Our prayers are with you at this most difficult time in your lives. We saw and talked to David at our 45th class reunion last year in Shadyside and enjoyed seeing him after all these years. Please know the SHS class of 1966 is saddened to learn of David's passing.

"Dave" was a fellow graduate of Shadyside High School in 1966. Also, at our 45th Reunion (2011) I had the privilege to sit and talk with him while we ate. He never changed it seemed. He was so quiet, yet had a lot to say when you gave him a chance. When talking with him, you knew he was brilliant. He also shared his passion for music. We talked about his living in the Newark area as that is where my firstborn was born. My fondest memory of him was when in Senior English class, we had to write a play and also perform the play. Our group was very diversified to say the least. I remember Dave could not come up with a subject and so we went with my suggestion. He just went right along with all of us. We really enjoyed being together. But soon afterwards we all graduated and went our separate ways regarding our education. He supported most of our reunions. I have much respect for Dave and feel it an honor to be a small part of his life. I am sure he will be missed! My condolences to Dave's family.
